What is a 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette and how does it work?

21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarettes provide the same satisfaction that you would get from smoking a traditional tobacco cigarette. An electronic cigarette looks, feels, and tastes like a cigarette, but doesn’t require you to light up. No smoke means you can smoke it almost anywhere.

21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarettes are driven by modern microelectronic technology made of basic parts: a lithium battery, an LED Light, a microchip, an atomizer, and a nicotine cartridge. Once the components are put together, the 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette physically resembles a traditional cigarette in both width and length. 21st Century Smoke™ products are battery powered and vaporize a gel held in a cartridge when you inhale, or draw, through the electronic cigarette. As you draw through the device, an LED light at the end of the e cigarette lights up to let you know the electronic cigarette is working. The LED light will also blink on the rechargeable battery to let you know that it needs to be recharged. As you draw air through the electronic cigarette, the atomizer heats up, vaporizing the gel in the cartridge. When the water and nicotine vapor is inhaled, it gives the user a “vaping” experience that is similar to smoking. The vapor that is exhaled has no lingering odor, is mostly water, and quickly evaporates.

How does a 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette taste and smell?

21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette nicotine cartridges are produced in Regular and Menthol flavors. While these electronic cigarette cartridges taste like your basic Regular and Menthol tobacco cigarette, they leave no lingering odor or residue like traditional cigarettes. Why? Because there is no smoke or second-hand smoke – just an exhaled vapor consisting mostly of water that dissipates quickly. 

Where can I use the 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette?

Since there is no combustion or burning of tobacco, 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarettes can be used just about anywhere. Most anti-smoking laws specifically regulate the combustion or burning of tobacco products, although there are a few exceptions. Currently all major airlines restrict the use of e cigarettes onboard airplanes in order to prevent possible confusion with other passengers. In addition, the state of New Jersey only allows the use of e cigarettes where traditional cigarette products can be used. Check your local laws for restrictions in your area.

 

How long will a 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette nicotine cartridge last?

Original Electronic Cigarette Cartridges

A 21st Century Smoke™ 6-Pack of Original Electronic Cigarette refill cartridges is approximately the same as 3.5 packs of traditional cigarettes. A pack of tobacco cigarettes contains 20 cigarettes, and each cigarette lasts for approximately 15 puffs*, for a total of 300 puffs per pack* (20 x 15 =300). Three and a half packs of cigarettes is approximately 1050 puffs* total (3.5 x 300=1050).

 

A 21st Century Smoke™ Original Electronic Cigarette cartridge contains approximately 180 puffs per cartridge*, which means a 6-pack of Original refill cartridges contain approximately 1080 puffs* total (6 x 180 = 1080), or roughly the same amount as 3.5 packs of traditional cigarettes.

Express Cartridge (Cartomizer)

A 21st Century Smoke™ 6-Pack of Express refill cartridges is approximately the same as 6 packs of traditional cigarettes. A pack of cigarettes contains 20 cigarettes, and each cigarette lasts for approximately 15 puffs*, for a total of 300 puffs per pack* (20 X 15 = 300). Six packs of cigarettes is approximately 1800 puffs* total (6 X 300=1800).

 

A 21st Century Smoke™ Express cartridge contains approximately 300 puffs per cartridge*, or the equivalent of 1 pack of cigarettes. This means a 6-pack of refill cartridges contains approximately 1800 puffs* total (6 X 300 =1800), or roughly the same amount as 6 packs of traditional cigarettes.

What type of 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette refill cartridge is best for me?

Currently, 21st Century Smoke™ offers two types of cartridge flavors (Regular & Menthol) available in two different nicotine levels (1.6% and 1.0%) in two designs: Original Cartridge and Express Cartridge. The 1.0% nicotine level cartridge is only available in the Express Cartridge (cartomizer). When it comes to preference it’s totally up to the user. The one suggestion we would make is, if you started by using the 21st Century Smoke™ Disposable Electronic Cigarette, you will get the most satisfaction from the Express Kits or Super Kit Cartridges because they work just like the disposable.

 

How do the ingredients in a 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette compare to those in a traditional cigarette?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), when this product burns, it can cause cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory disease and damage nearly every organ of your body.

 

21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette cartridges contain water, a preservative (vegetable glycerin base and propylene glycol), nicotine and flavorings that emulate tobacco or menthol. Nicotine itself is not believed to have toxicological effects. It can offer some therapeutic uses and can be found in pepper, tomato, eggplant and potato.

The 21st Century Smoke™ rechargeable battery takes approximately 2-3 hours to charge fully. Please do not attempt to charge the disposable battery, it could cause the battery to overheat and/or possibly damage your charger.

 

How long will my 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette battery and atomizer last?

Both the battery and atomizer have a 1-year limited warranty. Life of the battery and atomizer varies greatly based on usage of the product. 21st Century Smoke™ batteries can be recharged approximately 300 times.

 

Do I have to switch off my 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette when unused?

No, there is no switch. Only when you inhale or draw through the cigarette is the battery activated. When you stop drawing air through the e cigarette the device turns off automatically. Like any rechargeable battery though, an unused product will slowly drain and eventually need to be recharged. And since the battery never ignites or heats up, it is safe to store immediately after use.

 

What are the ingredients in 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarettes?

Our electronic cigarettes contain Nicotine 1.6% per ml. or Nicotine 1.0% per ml. 100% of the Nicotine in our products is derived from tobacco plants. Additionally, our e cigarettes consist mainly of water, a preservative (20% pure vegetable glycerin and 80% propylene glycol), and flavoring.

 

Propylene Glycol - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined propylene glycol to be "generally recognized as safe", or GRAS, for use in food. Propylene glycol is also safely used in cosmetics and medicines. It is used in food coloring and flavoring as an additive to keep food, medicines, and cosmetics moist. It is also used in machines that simulate smoke, although usage in simulating smoking devices is not currently included in the list of uses recognized by the FDA. In a 21st Century Smoke™ electronic cigarette, propylene glycol functions to provide the vapor mist that looks like smoke, and to suspend flavor. Inhalation of propylene glycol vapors appears to present no significant hazard in ordinary applications (Wikipedia Propylene Glycol)

 

Water - The water used in 21st Century Smoke™ cartridges is filtered via a reverse-osmosis process.

 

Nicotine – Nicotine is an alkaloid found in certain plants, predominately tobacco. It is also found, in lower quantities, in tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, cauliflower, bell-peppers and some teas.

 

Pure Vegetable Glycerol (glycerin) - Glycerol is a chemical compound also commonly called glycerin. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. For human consumption, glycerol is classified by the FDA among the sugar alcohols as a caloric macronutrient.
